Ph1 172 CAT

  172 - 249bhp @ the wheels
Unfortunately my CAT has been lost, so just wondering where's the cheapest place to get a CAT for my Ph1 172 from?

Looking on GSF they dont seem to have one for any model of 172 that I can see :S

Failing this if anyone has one I can borrow for a day! Just need to get the thing through the MOT! lol

Seen them go on here time after time for £30ish second hand, steve79 might have some available.

I have one sat around but it has no downpipe section on it, its just the cat box which would be useless to you Im guessing...I really should make the effort and scrap it in for some money.

cheers F0xy, I'll send him a PM and see how I get on :)

Not seen the underside of my car for a bit either since GDI moved too far down south, so not sure what's going on under there exhaust wise... I have an apparently silenced decat on at the moment so not sure if your bit would fit or not lol.

Its untouched on the exhaust side, flange is still there as it would be standard, just the other bent end that goes to the manifold has been cut off and was used to make a downpipe for mine.

If you cant get hold of one and you think you can get it onto your system you can have it for nothing, it'l be out of my way then lol.

f0xy u think that cat would fit if ive got the 182 mani on the 172. cos my decats got no down pipe or anything...and im also having to start thinking about the headache of having to get her through an MOT.

think I'm going to get a sports cat for next year at this rate, depends if it will affect power or not... will need to speak to Mr Cutler, dont want to lose any precious ponies!

There are 2 ph1 cats, twin lambda and single lambda. Make sure you get the correct one for your exhaust, the single lambda one is shorter.

Technically theres 3.

One with the single silencer (early ph1's), one twin type with single lambda and another twin type with 2x lambda
