Ph1 172, dissarming passenger airbag

a quick one for those that own a ph1 172, can you disarm the passenger side airbag by means of a key switch in the same manor you can on the ph2 172/182's?

You could remove it, use resistors and a base spec dash. Or just disconnect it and add resistors to the wiring.

Can program it out using Clip etc.

Yup. Removed from both my ph1s and programmed out through Clip

i shall speak to my local Clip man and see if he can squeeze it in.

You'll need to unplug it then reconfigure the ecu to tell it that it's not present.

Assuming the upper dash removes as easily as on the ph2, that shouldn't take more than a few moments

There is a command on clip to disarm it rather than de configuring it completely. The air bag light flashes when started to tell you this.
