Ph1 172 Gearbox help

Whats the gearbox used on the Ph1 172 sport clios, and what other vehicles used it, mines got a nasty whine, also how much is a recon on one of these

£350 + labour to remove/refit from car + i would suggest a new clutch too

k, well the box is off the car as i have just fitted a new clutch and release bearing, so i assume it would be cheaper now

ah good man! £350 for a rebuild from us (shop around, there might be cheaper out there)

or matt at specialist breakers had a BRAND NEW mk1 172 box for £400 + VAT 01254 386661 (ask for matt)

k cool, phonebook out in the morning, i dnt want to spend loads, its already cost me over 100notes for the clutch n some other bits and a few sensors, ideally looking at no more then 200 if i can then i can justify y my knuckles are ruined lol

how can u have fitted the release bearing if the gearbox aint in?

well ya know, attatched it to the fork on the bellhousing where its supposed to go lol, so i suppose with the box off then its not fitted to the car
