If you bought a brand new one from Renault and dont change gear like Ricky Bobby you can run a decent amount of horsepower, its torque that kills them.
As with anything, a second hand one you'll have no idea of how it has been driven so you cant but a timescale on it. Just have to hope for the best really.
cheers guys, im planning on buying a recon from renault at least il have a guarantee and knowing it been done properly, one other question, what gearbox oil does the ph1 172 use? anything special?
Castrol EPX 75/80 GL5 diff oil is as good as any
Halfords sell it
Sure its about 12 quid area per litre. You'll need 4 to be safe. Sure capacity is 3.1 litre iirc.
Headwork, 182 mani, pipercams, inlets, lightened fly and a good mapper lol
Some folk cant even make them stand up to stock power yet others have run 300+ bhp through them without probs going by on here
nice bet that goes well, cheers for that is this the oil your running then?
