Ph1 throttle issue - not sticky throttle.

Have about an inch of play in the pedal before the throttle does anything. Can't seem to find where this is coming from. It is as if it is taking up the slack of the cable. Is this normal? Or has anyone solved this issue?

It's the only place where adjustment is possible.

Remove the retaining clip and pull the shroud all the way out and then replace the clip. Back inside the car and you should notice the throttle pedal now sits higher than the brake and clutch does. Press the throttle pedal all the way the floor until it meets the stop, you will hear/feel some clicking (this is normal), foot off the pedal and check to see if the height is now level with the other pedal... Job done, cable adjusted.

Did not know this. Thanks for the advice, it makes doing the job that bit easier if I have a pointer to what I am doing!!

This didn't quite solve the problem
It did everything that you said but it there is still some play in the pedal. Also noticed that the cable seems very loose and slack at the throttle body end after the adjustment. I am thinking the cable has stretched over the years.
