ph1 vs ph2 172/182



  clio 172 cup
has anyone come from a ph1 172 to a ph2 1*2, and which is the better to drive? Im guessin the ph1 with its cable throttle is alot more responsvie unlike the fly by wire in the later model/s. Also the gear ratios have changed how does this make the car drive compared to the ph1? Just curious as woudnt mind a ph1 myself

Not much difference between the two, i have the use of my ph1 ans my other halfs 182, yes ph1 picks up slightly quicker, and when using alot of on/off throttle it is noticable, but the ph2 is still nice to drive,as is the ph1

Not being funny to the OP but there are loads of seperate threads discussing this. There is surely no harm whatsoever in joining (or resurrecting) an older thread. I'm not suggesting that your question has necessarily been asked (and answered) before but just that there are nearly a million 'ph1 vs ph2' threads. :rolleyes:

The Character mine is currently displaying is drinking its weight in oil. But it's true that i would much rather have the rarer Ph1 than the common as muck Ph2.

Obviously Trophy wins "best clio" IMO, 200 is too new.

Mine has started to eat oil too! Bloody thing! Ph1 is what started the RS Clios, it deserves to be recognised as the best as without it the others wouldn't of happened ;)
