the earlier models had ally bonnets then they stopped it, but it appears the shift light is a bit hit and miss if you have one.. i have an ally bonnet but no shiftlight.. either that or the bulbs gone haha

I've been to buy a Ph1 today and collecting on Saturday! This i the first I've heard of a shift light tbh . Wouldn't be the red light by the gear stick? Assumed that to be to do with an alarm/ immobiliser.

Think it was pot luck if you got either of them. My ph1 has both.

no its on the dash and lights up just before the rev limiter. its green iirc. like a little gearstick.

Mines got both. The shift is a light that looks like a gearstick that flashes when your up the rev range, the optimum time change gear so to speak

Im finding prices dont halve vary on PH 1's, 2 im viewing are one x plate and one w plate,one has 48k full history and want 2.5k:S and other has 70k full history for 1.6k

Does the bonnet feel pretty light? Also if a magnet doesn't stick to the bonnet it's aluminium iirc.

Well i bought mine with i think 78k ish miles on it for £2k 12 months ago. But yaeh they do vary somewhat. A couple of grand should get a good one mate

Got mine for the same price aswell needed the cambelt service also it was on 115.000 when I bought it though.

They are lighter so yeah I suppose they would be preferred.

The ally bonnet's are lighter than carbon.

Mines on a W plate and gas both Ally bonnet and shift light. Bonnet is very light and easily noticeable if you go to view one.

i have no shift light, nor the alu bonnet and im an x reg, my mates x reg has the shift light. think its just random haha.
