Phase 1 172 throttle cable advice

Hi guys and gals I'm having problems with the throttle sticking open around 2-3k and its embarrassing at lights having to lift the pedal with my foot to stop sounding like a tool .... The throttle body it's self looks lean and well greased but the cable looks a bit well it looks like the original so just a quick question any one got or can link me to a guide on how to change the cable ( the housing too ) or any advice on what people have done in the past would be a great help
.... Also I believe there is a guide to cleaning the throttle body properly however I can't seem to find the right one if some one could drop that in would be great.

Unhook the cable from the throttle body and the pedal, feed out from behind the bulkhead sound proofing and pull the cable from the bulkhead.

I'm having the same issues but mines the body not the cable.

You can also put the cable on the slackest setting. Should make it marginally better.

Are you sure its cable? Unhook the cable from the throttle body and manually open it and see if it returns nicely. If it sticks then thats your problem.

If the cables definitely at fault then they're a bit awkward to change but can be done by the DIY mechanic.

I'm sure it's the cable as it's in a tatty state I'm not off work till sat now and work long hours during the week... Ill pull the filter and all off and have a good look the cable it's self feels all slack and loose when it's pulled and the adjuster seems to do ni on nothing o
can get a full cable set up for £8 so think im
gonna get one anyhow but it's such a pain when you pull up to lights and it's over revving especially when I've got an oreca group n exhaust and it's blaring and ppl lol

Those camels can be a nightmare when they're humped!

Before anyone can really answer your question we need to know how many humps the camel has. One or two? Use the illustration below to see the difference.
