Basically in short i have a phase 1 and phase 2 172 both shamefully out of mot and not being used
Reason being, i have had to start using a diesel for work and really didn't want to let go of the Clio's, i was going to sell the phase 1 when i bought the phase 2 but that didn't happen either....
Another big reason for the lack of mot's is that i have screwed my knee up and have been unable to drive for 4 months and will be having reconstruction surgery next week...and then another 6 weeks of no driving :boring:
So I thought i'd start to try and get myself motivated :S
The Phase 1,
Not the most reliable ive ever had,
Broken down in the middle of Dussedorf!
Onwed this for since about early 2009 and it now been off the road for almost two years it had quite hard time whilst on the road, doing a trip to the nurburgring and being used daily at work. It was then laid up when i bought the Phase 2 as it was only on 54k whereas the Phase 1 had creeped to 113k....
I have done some jobs before I did my knee in;
Rear bearings
Front discs and pads
Rear shocks
Jobs to be done;
Needs new Windscreen
New Alloys and new rubber (scrapman stole two alloys whilst i was doing the bearings grrr!)
Cure the missfire that has developed whilst standing? leads, injectors or plugs?
Re-secure cv boot
Service
Then MOT.....
The Phase 2,
Owned since late 2009 and bought with vandal damage, lots of hours of bodywork later and a respray it went from this,
to this,
Problems with this one,
Noisy front bearing, it has been replaced once and has gone noisy again so i'm not sure if there is wear on the actual hub casing the bearings to fail?
Speedo not working.
Random cutting out at junctions.
New Rear exhaust mount.
So post op when i'm able to starting tinkering again i'm planning to update this with my progress
