Phase 1 throttle body help please

On the throttle body there is a small take off for a pipe on the front of the body , where does it go too ? mines missing as it had itb's on and i cant find it in the engine bay ??

It's a Idle control bypass. there's a hole just pre butterfly so filtered air is taken from just infront of the throttle when it's closed for the idle control valve

Its right next to the tps and should have a small pipe on it but where does it go to ?

right, that's not on the throttle body, it's on the plenum.
Early single lambda cars have the vac hose from the plenum to the FPR on the fuel rail. twin lambda cars don't use this and the vac take-off is blocked on the plenum. On a ph2/182 it is used for the accoustic valve.

Do I need it connecting up or just block it off, mines the early ph1 by the way.

It needs to connect to the Fuel Pressure Regulator as Dan said
See pic below , do bear in mind the fuel rail cover is off in the pic and poss still on your car so it might be covered.
