phase 2 rear lights on a phase 1

Car  clio mk2 172 phase 1
bought some phase 2 rear light for my phase 1 put them on but when i put the brake lights on all the lights light up i think its a bad earth but dont no seen other phase 1s with them on just wondering if you have to swap some wires round. thank oli

i've still got my ph1 lights and they done this! rub down the prongs on the back of the bulb holder with some sandpaper. the same with the wee adapter too. should sort it. sorted mines!

pay the tenner and look at the guide it will be sorted then you need to re wire

Yep need to swap all the wires around before they will work. Clean all the connectors while you are at it as well.

Its not hard to rewire. For some reason my rear fogs don't work with ph2 lights atm. Something I need to sort out tbh.

Instead of making a new thread and risk getting flamed for not using the search button i shall post here.

Today i fitted some ph2 light to my ph1. Drivers side done in a few minutes but the passenger side took longer as it was dark and my colours didn't match the guide.

Anyways, are there only suppose to be 1 fog light on the drivers side which illuminates at the top of the light, correct? I am pretty sure there is a bulb in the other side.

Cheers Elliott.

Mine is exactly the same mate. I've tried various bulbs and cleaning the connections and still only got one rear fog on the drivers side.

There is only one fog light that is supposed to work chaps, you can run a wire under the boot trim to make both work if you're fussy, but lets face it, how often do you use your rear fogs anyways?

It makes sense that there is one of the drivers side, so if in "fog" you would try to dodge the car to the right.

Just wanted to know weather this was correct.
