Pheasants

Stupid suicidal motherfcukers basically!

Do they really posses no survival instinct whatsoever?

Had to haul up sharpish en route home tonight, traffic coming the other way so I had to come to a standstill and lean on the horn.

Two others almost did the same but ran off just before I introduced them to 1,200 kgs of Clio 200.

Grrrr.

They're definitely suicidal, I had one look at me in the grass, then run out into the road in front of me! I swerved around it, had I been doing maybe 10mph more I wouldn't have been able to save the rear and probably spun around!

Aye, PITA. I hit one doing about 50 late last year. No idea if it survived and nor do I care.

I saw one run/start to fly accross a dual carriageway once, straight into the side of a transit.

They do seem a bit dopey.

Any damage? They're not big/heavy, but at 60mph they make a big hole.

Ripped my head light washer cap off, scuffs and also a feather managed to embed itself under some paint as well. I was overtaking someone at the time. Saw it run out and thought 'f**k it' and kept the foot down. Wasn't about to hit the anchors and potentially cause an accident for a stupid bird.

I've lost count of the run ins I've had with these over the years. They will sit and wait for you to come then decide its a good time to cross the road.
Its like they have to survival instinct at all. Or they all just have balls the size of melons and think they can take on anything.

In their head
'im bad come on then I'll have you, this is my land'
'crap didn't think this through, goodbye world'
crunch.

Or
'its so beautiful'
Splat.

Hit one in my old company Clio Dci at 90mph.

Destroyed the undertray and smashed the bumper to bits, fired out the back of the car and hit the BMW following me square in the middle of the bonnet.

Rest of the way home all I could smell was BBQ as its remains cooked on the hot exhaust.

They must be one of the stupidest birds ever.

Watching the cars driving along the road... Then when the car gets closer it decides to run under the wheels.

Retards.

Actually spasticated!!!!

I hit a big b*****d @ 55mph in the truck and it put my windscreen in!

Yep they are stupid. Stupid because they are hand reared by Farmers in their shed. If you put a child in a shed with no parents would it learn?

Once grown the farmers let them free then shoot them. We let the farmers use our land to shoot & it's quite amusing watching how thick they actually are.

  172 track thingy
These things seem to be attracted to any vehicle I drive :S needed new lower grill and a front plate thing below the bumper but nearly needed a new bumper :S

Just stupid amounts of the things where I live too :S

you have a think though (i was trying to explain this logic to the missus the other day)

a badger can get hit and survive... it has some girth,
if a pheasant gets hit its pretty much game over.... this means life or death, this also therefore means it has no way of learning, as when it does get hit it can't learn from it....

I hit my first pheasant about two days before someone was coming to buy my Clio, the stupid b*****ds. Broke a lot of the lower grille in the front bumper which I had to fix/make myself out of an old splitter

Although I think I did see its head come off in my mirror, so that's kind of payback...

They go straight through v6 bumpers at 50mph, just FYI.

Muntjak Deer
60mph

"That'll be a whole cosmetic front end and a new sump please."

Yeah it was, although the damage that it went in for was after somebody hit it in a car park about two weeks after the pheasant. It's going back to gally again for more repair work soon. I've had the worst luck with this car. Almost ended up in an accident yesterday as well after two cars crashed on the other side of the road from me and one of them bounced over into my lane. Luckily I was stationary waiting at a junction. I'm bloody terrified to drive the thing.

Had a few but not hit any. I hit a duck this morning :(

Conventional birds can get bent. They've got tiny little heads and lightning reflexes. If I hit them, they deserve it.

But ducks... no..... poor ducky :(

We have a suicidal horse on the country lanes on the way to the unit, same one everytime, just casually walks out onto the road.

I decapitated a pheasant in a 172.

I currently have 2 living outside my house, they are the most irritating fckers ever!

Swans are worse... in the park near where i live theyll just stand there and stare you out from the middle of the road... no abount of beeping or revving or pretending to run them over will phase them.

and theyd do more damage than a pheasant lol :( and youd probably get fined for running one over

  182
I had an owl just sit in the road once, it wouldn't move at all, I couldn't run it over so just waited lol.

Living in the countryside sucks at times.

Try 6 months in jail

6 months! srs? pheasants are retarded dont even bother braking for them. rabbits arent much brighter just stand there and stare at you with a completely vacant look on there face. hit a muntjac a little while back at about 50mph no damage to the clio what so ever, pulled over finished it off slung it in the boot and had it for sunday lunch a few days later bloody lovely with a bit of red currant jelly!!

  Listerine & Poledo
yep, killing swans can be up to 6 months in the clink, no lie.

Rabbits get myxomatosis which makes them love getting killed.
Pheasants I can't explain, but don't worry, we'll be sure to thin their numbers between octobr and january.

and how a clio can survive a munt-strike is beyond me. Admittedly, the sump on the V5 was only destroyed by an antler taering a gash in it, massively unlucky

  Listerine & Poledo
you better believe it!

It was a little bugger too, thought it was a cat, then when we pulled over to check my mate said it was a fox.

it wasn't until my old man went by the next day and asked "did you hit that Muntjak on the Witchford bypass?" that it came clear what had happened.

A Pigeon flew into the side of my old kangoo on a B road, straight into the sliding side door handle causing the door to open! Luckily the runners were so clogged up it only opened a few inches. I dread to think what the road would have looked like if it had fully opened, never kept that van very tidy.

I winged a bird this morning, silly f*cker flew straight out the hedge in to the front of my car, sent it on it's way.
