Hi, i've got a mk2 ph1. could someone put the standard 172 alloys onto it. Just wanna see what it looks like cos my friend is selling some cheap.

There 16" is it them ones your mate got for sale or the ones of the RS1

yea they are 16s mate, tried to make them look a bit bigger in the chop - as i assume yours are 14"?

yer mine are 14s. those are the ones i'm gonna be buying. Will my mates alloys (which are 16"s) fit my car.

they will fit fine mate...only thing is you may need to roll the arches if you plan on lowering, but will bolt straight on!

if u feel under ur wheel arch there shud be a lip which could possible need to be rolled upwards so it gives you more clearance for your alloys n tyres

^^ what he said - really easy to do

just make sure you bring it to a reputable garage - because i have heard of people just taking an angle grinder and cutting the lip off

it is ok to do this, but could leave a shard edge to catch your tyres - and if not finished properly it can lead to rust starting on the rear!
