  Monaco Blue Mk2
They're all right mate...don't do it, you will wonder why on earth you wasted so much money doing it when you could have done something decent to it, or bought a better car, or gone on holiday etc etc. Seriously, look at that German members car. Looks awesome, I'm fairly certain you could do that for a lot less than the price of that kit. I'm not up on the recent prices for 2nd hand parts but, Front bumper £100, skirts £100 max(already painted) Good suspension coilover kit £500. Bodywork (Front Bumper sprayed and other colour coding £150 max.) £100 quid to get the bumper fitted well. £950 tops....

Obviously you'd have to factor in some Euro wheels which I know can be expensive but I'm not really up on them. Say £900-£100 (Don't necessarily have to be full on euro, you could use spacers to help achieve the look if the wheels are getting too expensie) Or just get a nice set of normal wheels, don't have to go Euro, either way it still leaves you with change for a good holiday/the added insurance.

Presuming your a 17-19 year old yeah Poc?

Everyone goes through this stage, then when there 20ish they realise what they did to thier 1.2 was a complete waste of time/money.

Doing something like that to your car will make it even harder to sell when you want to upgrade.

Put your hard earned cash into a high interest savings account, then in a few years, buy yourself a nice little 172 or 182.
Trust us, it will make you smile a lot more than a 1.2 weighed down with body kits!

Please don't do it, you will hate yourself in a few years if you do.

Anyhow, hopefully you'll listen to all our wise advice!

I think you should do it, Everyone goes through that stage, id did, yep spent loads of money but who cares, money is so short term. Modify your car while your young and have money to spare and f**k all outgoings. I never regreted it. Part of life and growing up, well enjoyed my 'Crusing' days.

people say save your money for a 1*2, i didnt have any money saved up when when i got my 172, just got a loan.

Yes the Euro look suits the clio as its french, but ive seen many a jap styled clio and they can look impressive without going ott.

im not tryin to make out that im not listenin to all of u but as i see it is, like nathan just said, everyone goes through that stage. im 21 but didnt pass my test till last year, cos i was a lazy mofo so this my first car so maybe i am in that "phase" but then on the other hand i really want to kit the car up for competition purposes not just to "look nice" and without soundin like im being hostile, from what iv seen on this forum so far, everyone has the same clio, buy either a 172 or 182, hav the same alloys put on, same mods put on, or hav a v6. i was browsing through the clio pics on this website and to me they all look the same modified wise :S

Alot of the modded cars on here look similar for the reason that there are things that work and things that dont. As there arent really any kits out there that improve the looks of the clio people opt for a big drop and some wheels and subtle changes like colour coding carbon bonnets and smoothing as opposed to a fibreglass and P40 abortion that looks out of place.

Sadly there is a modding phase of late to put huge angular kits on with big open grills filled with mesh and they dont suit curved bubble shaped european hatches but every teenager with a credit card and copy of max power clearly thinks they are better than the design department of a multi million pound car manufacturer.

I never got, nor did the whole hanging round at macdonalds and fitting w**k bodykits to cars. My first car was a gt turbo and all it got was wheels, a drop, debadging, exhaust, dumpvalve, air filter, uprated speakers head unti and changer & clear indicators, repeators and foglamps. I can look back now and not be embarrassed by pictures of my car I bet alot of people who jump on the bodykit bandwagon cant say the same.

see, thats were the prob lies. im not a chav and tbh i dont even know anyone doin there car to hang with at mcdonalds even if i wanted too,lol just a normal guy wanting to make his clio look like a beast and to win some awards at some shows and it wud be nice if it turned heads in a gud way

i know exactly of the type of peeps u are talkin about, i hate those guys too. the chavs with there caps on and kitted novas and escorts thinkin there hard outside maccy D's or asdas, lol

Have a look at some dub sites if you want to do something different that stands out and dont want to be lumped in with the chavs. They always seem to have the best turned out cars in terms of their cosmetic mods. Might be worth PM'ing winston as he's into euro stuff and will no doubt be able to give you loads of links to sites to give you some inspiration.

and loony i see wat ya sayin but its quite hard for me, i only work part time in a call centre, drag home around 500 a month, and insurance and other outgoings leaves me with around 90 to myself :( so iv worked my knackers off doin overtime for past few months to raise £2400. still doin overtime now tbh, did 4 hours this mornin at 7am and i gotta goto work again at 5pm, so cut a long story short, iv worked real hard wanting to get my car kitted up and lookin like a monster for the nationals

you dont work at ventura by any chance do you?

I can fully understand where your coming from, im 21 aswell and a few years ago it wouldnt even bother me about owning a faster more refined car, i loved modifying my mk1 1.2, yeah it looked good imo, spent a grand on some chrome wheels and other stuff. but looking back now i wouldnt dream of spending that sort of money on things like that, a) because i cant afford to anymore and b) ive just grown out of the modified car scene. Im a typical CS member, with a standard 172, but i dont want to modify it, as in my eyes its perfect as it is and does exactly what it says on the tin.

I still like modifying but wouldnt go down that path again. spend your 2.5k and live, its a quality feeling having a cool looking car. sadly any bodykit will make you a chav in 99.9% of the populations eyes.
