Pic request...mk1 jack points!!

Hello gonna buy a jack tomo and some axle stands but where are the jack points a mk1 1.4 phase 3?

any pictures and a description would be quality, gonna try and fit a decat looks easy!cheers Ryan

This is a good point actually, Haynes says that you need a metal bar if you want to jack the whole front or rear.

At the front just behind the jacking point there is a reinforced bit, use a bit of 2x2 timber to keep the jack head outa the recess or it will get stuck in there, jack there and put the axle stands on the chassis rail, teh bar bit towards the centre of the car directly in from the jack. There are some holes in it at the bottem, stick the stands just infront of these.

At the rear there is a rounded section just where the trailing arms hinges, jack head suits nicley in here, and use the axle stands on the reinforced section inside the rear jacking points

Look at the botom of th sills near where the door hinges are. Then stick your hand under the car and youll fell the bit of chassic about 1 inch high an 1.5 wide bu about 2 foot long. Id try and jck on the but if your going o axle stan i jack on the normal jacking points (the sills) an put the axle stands on th chassic member bits.

ive started doing it on the bit i photoed above,and it seems ok is this safe, plus do i have to put 2 axle stands on or can i just have one?

Thats the subframe, if you jack there you will bend it.

Use two axle stands, alot safer, car is level then
