Pics after first attempt at claying. **pic heavy inferno content!**

So yesterday i had my first attempt at claying the bodywork of the cup, i was amazed at the feel of the paintwork afterwards.
Wasn't actually sure what section to put this in, but as its not a full on detail clean really and more pic motivated i thought i'd put it in here.
Anyways there are a few different types of shot here and as always C&C and tips welcomed.

Love the motor, the harnesses and the pics, not keen on the tow strap. Hope you were singing "I'm going to use my clay bar, clay bar, clay bar" to the tune of gay bar by electric six!

Might be a bit risky using the clay bar on your daughters, surely soap and water is better!

Cheers guys, yeah Saxo will be going up Wiscombe again this year as well as a couple other places including Castle Combe. Got to do a few things to it before the first event and ill probably give it a bit of a claying too, seeing as how it got rid of a lot of crap off of my paintwork.

Tow strap is TRS as are the harnesses, not sure i really like the tow strap anymore either, it was ok for a while but may remove it soon, no interior shots as i spent so long doing the outside of the car that i neglected the inside, just needs a bit of a hoover really.
Think i might have a pic of the interior somewhere actually.

Claying is the way forward, will have to give it a go when the weather really starts to get warm! Nice work, looks awesome!

You've still got your rear seats. How is that possible with harnesses?

Yeah I think the strap has to go, only problem is I cut some slits in the grill so not sure if it'll be noticeable or not.

They are bolted to the mounts for the rear seatbelts, one on the bottom in the corner and the others where the seatbelt clip is.

May be just me but the right side of the front bumper in line with the numberplate seems a little dull compared to the rest of the car? May be the photo or just my eye sight aha.
Looks really nice though! tough work claying it! I spent 7 hours after buying my car off someone who has only ever powerwashed it! and it is still not perfect. Also spotted a few lovely deep scratches (re-spray for me i think!)
Love the colour!

I do see what you mean about the front bumper, might just be the lighting but I'm gonna have to check it out later. Spent 6 hours in total and it's still not a perfect detail! Was my first time though.

Well here's the thing, I used what came with the clay as it said to use it after claying, I should probably polish and then wax but I was so knackered and running out of light I thought its good enough for me!

yeah, thats what I done but threw over demon shine just to protect the paint, next time will need less claying so I will poilsh and wax it then. You need something to protect the paint though.

Yeah the stuff i used was more of a wax i think, anywho the dull bit is actually just a lighting issue if you look closely at some of the pics you can see reflections in it, had a check when i finished work and it looks exactly the same as the rest of the car, all shiny!

Tom, here are a couple pics of how i've mounted the harness, probably not the best way but it works and is the same way we have the belts in our hillclimb car which is how we were told to mount them by a scrutineer.

Yeah i think it looks red sometimes too, on the flip side i've seen pics of trophys in some light that almost looks inferno.

I used the Meguairs clay kit too, was good. The spray that came with it was to make the claying easier?

Yeah used the spray whilst claying, and it came with a small bottle of some kind of polish or wax and it said to use it after the clay to finish, probably could of given it a coat of decent wax too tho.

No rear bench is just lifted up to take pics, I occasionally see another inferno but don't think they're a member on CS.
