Pics of 1st Clio outing at Kirkistown

Car  172, BMW 650i & X5
Just some pics before and during 1st Clio 172 outing at Kirkistown which happened on Sunday. Clio replaced a very temperamental MR2 and ran well all day with no faults. Have a small 'to do' list which is more want than necessity as Sunday was more of a test day. Anyhow, here you go...

Pure total hatchet job!!! Everything that can be stripped has been. Heater matrix, door locks, door protection bars, headlights, even stuff you probably wouldnt think of!!!
Custom 2.5 decat exhaust for £100. Home made intake etc. No remap or engine work yet but goes like a rocket!!! Even the complete cage cost £68 in total (2 lengths of 7.5m steel in 30mm and 40mm for rollover hoop etc and brother builds, bends, fabricates and welds) excellent10/10 job. Car can be done on a shoestring and goes well. My recommendation to anyone is get rid of weight even where not thought possible! 1mm poly carb windows home cut and fitted with jack screws etc (about £40 all round except front which is standard) Keeps young lad off bloody Playstation!!!
To get idea of cutting, here's it's predecessor

Still plenty to do...just put her out for a snag list but surprisingly NO issues. Heart was broke with MR2. She'll get upgrades over winter

Cheers buddy, still at it so there'll be more to come. People spend insane money on so called brand names. Really does my head in. A bit of common sense thinking and a tool kit goes a long way. Take the front mount oil cooler kit - All in about £70 from local hydraulic supplier and is identical!!!
Best friends are my trusty angle grinder and lump hammer!!!

I reckon i can still discover more weight Mark, already thinking of 'honeycombing' inner oanels with big bros trusty bore cutter! That was enough to just manage to get her out on Sunday (in my book)
More weight loss, camber bolts, brakes, tyres, remap on the agenda before skim and introducing the flywheel to the lathe.
Appreciate your advice on mods, all taken on board!
Let the madness continue...
