Interference from power cables some where.

Does the noise change with the speed of the engine?

No....Its just as soon as you turn the ignition on....the noise comes on....Its like a fan spinning noise.....which it may be but unsure :S

The unit has a fan in it. Not that loud really, cant hear it when you get going only notice it when stood still with engine off and no music on.

Ive attached a recording of mine with me phone.....Only way of showing you guys as i dont know anyone else with the unit.

This is with the engine off does this sound like its meant to:S


With me not buying it from new im unsure if its normal or not

Sounds fine buddy.

The continuous sounds is the fan in the unit, the clicking type of noise is the DVD loading information for your surrounding area into a buffer memory so that it access it quicker during the journey. I found that this noise happens for the first 2-3 minutes max, must admit I was abit curious too, as to what it was doing when I first had the unit installed.
