Pioneer Head Unit Help!!!

Am having trouble getting my Pioneer head unit to work in my 172 cup, I've had had a go at fitting it, but as i dont know much it would have been more luck than judgment if it had worked (it didn't). Can anyone tell me what I need?! and How I fit it?! Also it is possible to keep the steering wheel controls?!!

Steering wheel controls can only be kept if you buy the adapter for it. Around £40. But this ive been told requires the whole top half of the dashboard to be removed to get access to it, if you have the dashtop display....

I had the same initial problem with my h/u, just make sure the rubber covered leads are plugged into each other to power up the unit.

What about the square yellow coloured connector which is plugged into the original head unit, is that not needed?! Also i couldnt see a rubber covered wire exsisting? I can see where it would connect to my head unit though............?!

just make sure you have all of the original wires form the car plugged into the aftermarket wires, and then into the head unit.
my head unit does not work until the ignition is turned on and then the head unit turned on first, it may sound as if im making you out to be stupid but it took me an hour to work it out!
also, check your fuses as you may have blown one without knowing...

about the steering controls, all i have heard is the correct adaptor will then mean they can be attached to the head unit which will also make the dash screen work, however i havent got round to buying these cables so not sure.

The little yellow connector is the steering wheel controls and wont fit into the head unit unless you have an adaptor!! As said above...just make sure all the connectors from the factory unit are in the pioneer unit..bar the yellow plug...and then it should work!!

If not your head units possbily no good!!
