Piston Rings

Hi,
Yes that was my first thought, so I did this got one, a so say low mileage one, had the cam belt done before the new engine went in, then the mechanic phoned me to say that 30 seconds after starting, it threw a rod straight through the block
So I am in damage limitation mode right now, the old engine had loads of oil coming up through the air box (pos piston rings) and almost certain that the head gasket had gone, so we are now thinking just repair what we know is part good with the two duff engines we have.
I already paid out £200 on this second hand engine plus fitting, what is the engine your looking to get rid of mate?
