Pixel resolution or Contrast ratio

Whats more important Pixel resolution or Contrast ratio?

Anything else i should be looking at when getting my tv?

Im looking at getting a 37" samsung but i notice that they have 2 37" available one being full hd an the other not. Will i notice a big difference if i don't get the full one? ie 360 or ps3 games/blue ray?

Also the guy in the shop said i should go for the LG 37LF66 over the samsung anyone have any views on this tv is it better than the samsung? Reason for my first question as they differ in the two...

Dont get LG over Samsung for a start.

Do you mean 720p or 1080? 720p is HD but 1080 is true HD.

You will only notice the difference on a set thats 50" or bigger.

For 37" samsung LCD and 720p will be great.

Guess that must be what i mean by full hd... i think lol.

Do you guys think i should wait for the january sales? will there be a big price difference?
