Places to use in Kent for Cambelt change?

  172 Cup
I've got a Cup I need a cambelt change on. Any recommendations?

Only about 2 I could find using the search bar.

Did I read the Cup is easier to change on as no air con in the way or something similar?

Two Techs in Dartford are brilliant. Matt and Terry are very friendly, knowledgeable guys. I had my belts changed there, and the service was top notch. They also do a drop off/pick up service to Bluewater so you can stay busy whilst they do the belts.

Had a look on their site and couldn't find a definitive answer. Do you know how much they charge for a full belt change?

How much did it cost you mate? Surely they can't be much more than 519 is Rob..

i got a quote this morning from two techs for a cambelt and dephaser change and as they thought i had the cup still they said was £674 all in. they really no theyre stuff there but they are expensive. so for a 182 with air con im looking at 774 roughly. so i think id rather the journey to bath and go too cooksport who will do it for £534

Wow they are expensive. Would rather going to MWM in stains. Only just a little bit further for me.. Although I say that, I don't even know what his prices are like yet..

I had mine done at Ren7oaks - they were reasonably priced, friendly and got the job done quite quickly. Also they are right next to a station so I jumped on the train and spent the day in London.

Two Techs cost me £670 for both belts, tensioners etc on my 172 with aircon last year. Had to travel from Ashford, so a 40 mile drive twice added to my fuel bills, but the service was great, plus being able to go to Bluewater meant I could kill two birds with one stone.

Two techs won't be getting my custom, they wanted £210 for a front wheel bearing.. I rang them 2 weeks ago. And they rang back today!!

A 90 minute drive would get you to Rentech in Portsmouth.

Price wise I think you'd be looking at a fair chunk less than quoted above and service (as vouched for by countless members) is second to none.

I asked for a quote and got phoned back 3 hours later last Sat.

Terry has had staffing probs the last 2 weeks, family bereavement(sp) and the other chap was moving house. The replacement tech was taken ill! So don't be put off.

I understand that completely, can understand why they can take long to get back with quotes. But £210 for a wheel bearing is taking the piss a bit. Seeing as a member on here did it for 55 quid, and looked at other s**t faults, refilled my gearbox when the gaitor fell of, and scanned it for no extra. f**king legend

Twotechs are brilliant, had a few bits done back in June. Both very nice guys explain out all options, and "what if" situations, without forcing the sale.

In response to the guy mentioning the slow reply time, I had my MOT done last saturday, one of the guys was moving and the other had a bereavement ( may not be my place to say)in the family so unfortunately the timing might have been not the best. But explains the slow response.

I only have good things to say about these guys, and the general feedback on this site suggests the same. You pay for what you get.

Timmy2take. Google engine-dynamics in essex. There based in silverend near Colchester. Would only be an hour or so drive. It's just Andy and his old man (bbtuning) they've been tuning/renault specialists since the 90's and now they've downsized they have very little overheads and they will do a full belt change using genuine parts for £299!!!!! You will need to ad £170 for the dephaser to be done or grab your own. Can't believe some of these places charge £500+ daylight robbery!!! Makes me wana get the locking tools and do it my bloody myself!!!

Matt at Codered charges £525 for:

Cambelt + rollers, Aux belt and Dephaser = £525

This is where I'll be heading in the next few months for mine, only about half hour from me.

  Cooksport Fleet
£360 for a car with air con. Includes Auxbelt kit, cambelt kit and cam caps.

Dephaser is just part cost at £174

All genuine parts

Would it be possibe to post up contact details/websites for the above mentioned places? (codered/engine dynamics etc) Google doesnt turn up too much for some of the smaller places.

Mine are due in about 6/8 months so want to start getting some rough quotes.

Cheers
