Play in the steering rack

hi i have play in the steering rack
are the steering rack bushes renault only or can you get poly bush ones

i assume you mean the steering arms? if so think they are renault only

no the bushes on the steering rack mounts

Just noticed mine has that aswell. Moves up and down a bit which is worrying as i have a track day on tuesday. Do you think its bushes or a new column. Is it a common fault? Mine is a series mk1 172.

seems like a common fault heard a few people with the same, but not heard if polybushes are available or standard only, havent had a chance to get the rack off yet to see

they do move a bit standard to be honest!
