playing laptop through tv

hey folks. due to the fact virgin dont show sky one, im not able to watch lost. however, i have found a website that i am able to stream the videos from. now, here is my problem.

i know how to connect my laptop to my lcd tv, but when i use the tv as the display, the video will not show up. even when i start playback using the laptop display then flick onto the tv, i get sound but no picture.

is there a way i can get round this. im using the divx player, due to its much better quality.

i assume it wont let me to prevent people showing it in public areas? but is there a way round it. id rather watch it on a 32" screen than a 15" one.

You need to turn the display off on the laptop. It will then play the video on the external display.

It's normally one of the number keys with a symbol of the screen on it.

mnaged to solve it after posting. im having to use the 'extended desktop' feature.

just put the window on the tv, maximise and im done.
