Please help (gearbox problem)

Please help!!

I was just driving back from town in 5th gear at about 40 when my gearbox started to violently shake and the whole car was shuddering, it felt like it was going to stall! so i changed down, and it was doing the exact same thing

it is doing this in all of the gears! it will let me select each gear but the car just shakes and revs and the gearstick goes crazy

i drove it to the nearest garage (one that i dont really trust ) and they said dont drive it

what can it be, please help!!

im going on hol saturday and i really dont need this!!

A trusted mechanic would be first port of call for me matey, id just park it up go on holiday and then worry about it when you get home!

Check all the obvious stuff first like engine mounts and bellhousing bolts.

Coilpack as it sounds like the engines missfiring. Nothing to do with the gearbox just the stick will shake a lot as its a rod linkage.

i'm guessing he meant that he doesn't need the cost of fixing it when he's due to go on hol... either that or needs the car to be able to go which is a bit of a shitter

yeah i have heard of that, its quite a commen problem is it not? sounds about right anyways, the engine was just struggling in every gear and the revs would keep dropping like the car was limiting itself
