Please help I’ve crashed the car

Please help

Ive 3hrs ago crashed my car on the A5127 I belive. The car has been recovered to the local A1 storage til the moring when its of to Lewis Read Birkenhead.

Problem is i need to know how much its going to cost me and whether to claim on the insurance. The front passenger side plastic pannel is completely cracked and the front bumper is completely off. Also the rear passenger side wheel is buckled. Also the passenger side airbag when off.

Can anyone who works at a repair shop give us an idea of how much its going to cost. I wouldnt be bohered about it being repaired at another garage aslong as it was cheaper than renault as they will wan to claim ofr 2 new whells as they have slight dent on them but nothing seriously wrong with them and it will need one hell of a polish.

Also im of on holiday tmorrow for a week so I wont be able to see any more message on the forum after about 1am.

If you have seen my car and can recommend somewhere cheaper to have it doen (i dont care to much about the wheels as there ok or the bussing and polishing to get rid of scratches) my number is 07947777988

Im pretty sure its usually what you cant see that costs. Like the chassis - I ran my Dads car into a kerb years ago and got it written off as the chassis was unrepairable apparently. Thats my only crash and the only experience so far I can contribute. I take it your ok?

I dont work for a body shop etc etc. but... My landrover got spancked by a dust bin truck about a month or so ago... It scraped into the plastic bumper and dented the wheel (V-small dent)...

It cost over £600 pound thou to fix the damage

I know Renault parts are V-Diffrent to Landrover bits, but I was shocked at the cost for the parts alone, let alone the cost of them to be fitted.

I had all the work done by my local garage,(who is a STAR) which was a bit cheaper, I did this as I didnt trust Landrover as they sub contract out all there body-shop work out.

hi mate, your main problem will be the air bag, this is very costly to sort out usually

if you do claim on insurance, you dont have to use the bodyshop they give you, you can use anyone you want

is the bumper completely gone then ?.....

your lookin at at least a few hundred mate if you need a new bumper, wing, alloy, and the air bag sortin...................i think

thanks for the replies im ok for now more worried about the car and how much its going to be i juss in going to go into shock later on.

It would be terriable if my car had to be fixed under the insurance I would prefere it to be written off i love my car dont get me wrong but the car would always be dameged. Plus a new car wouldnt have 17k on the clock.



The bumper looks like its ripped its mounting completely on one side. I know wht somewhere crashed into my escortthe bumper cost £600 and that was a plain metalic bumper. I guess it could be repaired but they will just replace it I guess as its easier.

Im on the renault free insurance so the excess is £500 plus next yrs insurance will be more. (Anyone any idehow much my dad recons it will be about £1200 third parts which seems unlikely). If its under a grand i recons its better paying for it myself.

Ye the proplems with free insurance.

Anyone any idea how much insurance at 21 will be if i have a claim to my name im guessits its about £400 without a crash

Ive just been on there site and looking at the damage on some cars which are writ offs im guessing mine will be written of.

Well maybe its a new car for me i quite like the 03 plates.

If my car were to be written of could i have the cash instead? as iw ould prrefere to save some £ and buy a year old model whcih are loads cheaper. Ive hated loosing about £4kon my car in one year.

afaik unless your car is under a year old you will automatically get the cash

i doubt it would be £400 mate without a crash unless u got a few years no claims under ur belt
