Please Help Me!?!?!?!?!? Dont Know What To Do Next

  Turbo Convesion Started!!
Hi all,

I have bought a Volvo 480 Turbo to convert into my clio, however the car isn't running properly at all!!!!!

I have a problem where at low revs the car is fine, as soon as i put my foot down in 1st gear, great but second gear and therefore it pulls back, and backfires sometimes too....

i have changed plugs, leads seem ok so i didnt bother with them, distributor cap changed, new fuel put in!!!

could it be something as simple as a fuel pump, or as severe as an ecu problem!!!

I really want to start the conversion next week so i have to get it running properly this week if i can!!

Get it put on a diagnostics machine, that'll tell you whats wrong with it. well worth the cash, I did it with mine before I did the conversion, and I ended up replacing the injectors as that was what was causing the fault on mine.

I'll be emailing u that guide tomorrow at work :)

Get it running fine before you start moving it to the clio, because its alot easier to work on it in that big volvo engine bay :)

cheers mole, just out of curiosity, how much did the diagnostics test cost you, and 120bhp is standard in a heavy 480 don't forget, these engines have play in em!!!!!!

cost me 25 quid for mine, same price as doing the renault one on my old 1.4 engine.

saves alot of time poking about at various sensors etc not knowing whats causing the fault.
