i have noticed that i have water in my boot.

now the water isn't in the wheel well or anywhere under the boot floor, but its all along the rear beam that holds the rear seats bolted down. i think this was the cause of shorting my amp out and damaging it. i have taken that out etc but i really need to find where its coming from.

any ideas?

edit. meant to say it only happens when it rains? e.g water being splashed up?????

have you checked all the rubber sills around the boot, as up the top of the boot in the centre near the ariel is a place it sometimes comes lose and water from the roof runs down, I had that once

no its not the lights.

ollie, mines a mk2 ph1 and has the aerial up front.

i think it looks like it may be coming in from around the bolts that hold the rear beam in place but i dont know how the water could come through there?

nick, take the rear seats out and the carpet and get a mate to hose the whole car and the underneath and then u can see where the water is coming from. thats what i had to do with a mk1 with puddles in the rear footwells.
gd luck matey

phew!!!

think i have sorted it! had a poke around in the boot and after drying and cleaning everything i found that one of the bolts holding the rear seats in was loose.

took off the protective plastic cover that runs the width of the boot and then jacked her up, sprayed some wd40 to the bolt end under the car and the bolt head in the car, finally got her moving and tightened her down.

put everything back etc, now just gotta wait when it rains to see if it leaks anymore, now everything is dry it should be easy to see if it does it again. :):):):):):):)
