Long story short: would a battery going flat piss the immobilizer off and then not allow the car to start when using a jump box?

no not normally, but lock and unlock it a few times using the remote first, then try

Also, if it has a bit of a hissy fit, try disconnecting the battery again for 15 mins, and trying again.

Mine needed this once.

ye there also a thing you can do to reset the fob/security (though it might just be for the doors not sure)

Cool, well basically its been in for an MOT today. failed on emisiions (fucker) but now the battery seems to have run flat and when on a booster box it wont start.

if the battery has run flat that quickly its maybe fooked in which case a boost may not work, new battery from the factors is about 25 quid so id start with that?

Seems like the battery. Garage tested it and was only running about 9 volts, so thats hopefully the problem

If a lambda sensor is faulty - will it show as a fault on the ecu?
