PLS help with immobiliser

My MK1 has been giving me immobiliser trouble all this week now

• My key (the Mk1 Infa red types) seems to work, the little red light blinks when you press.
• Just bought a Brand new receiver from the renault stealers in banbury.

Still - the car won't unlock on the blipper or disable the immobiliser. It just doesent respond at all

The stealers told me that 95 onwards ish cars have a generic receiver fitted and something else in car decodes it and disables the immobiliser, So they gave me a generic one. These receivers have a white label not a yellow, mine had a white label so i have the right part.

What does the receiver send a message to? the ECU? a central locking controller? What?
Really at the end of my tether with this one.

Ok, I had a spare MK1 PH1 ECU and have fitted it replacing my MK1PH2 ECU

Does anyone know if the Ph1 had immobiliser - don't think it did, as the car now starts with no immobiliser light at all.

However, the central locking still doesent work!!! ARARRAGG
What is it on a MK1 that unlocks the doors when it gets a signal from the Infared blip receiver.

Ph1s didn't have immobilisers build into the ECU hence why it'll start, otherwise I can't help you i'm afriad.
