VVT sensor

Ill get a pic up later, i thought that might be the case, what happens if you run with it disconected?

there are two...

one is the map sensor on the inlet plenum, 3 pin one..

the other is the Phase shifter... 2 pin

if you disconnect it will loose power, circa 10 bhp... and feel flat as anything..

at 1400 ish rpm it activates and the solenoid plunges down allowing oil pressure into the inlet cam phase shifter advancing it 16 degrees which gives more power ....

its basically retards at idle to smooth the idle and lower rpm drive out...

When you run the DTA just splice it into the std loom.

The vvt solenoid (neither a sensor or phaser to be a pedant) is supplied a continuous 12v and the ecu just drops the earth to it, so use a negative switch option on your DTA.

Switching parameters will depend if your running plenham, ITB, camshaft profile and if using AlphaN or Speed desity main load sensing.

If you dont plug it in, or leave it unplugged, then the natural resting place is for the solenoid to simply bypass the oil to the galley return.

The solenoid and plug is the gold cylindrical item next to the oil filler cap in the pic below.
