anyone who has got an iphone or ipod touch you need to download an app called pocket dyno your iphone/ipod has to be still on the dash so needs to be in a holder or something similar, it basically tracks your 0-60 times and 1/4 mile times etc etc, heres a screen shot of my result in the wet

the others say 7.25 all the way to 7.82 and it is very accurate, been reading reviews online

It's so accurate it recorded my friends 233bhp Ibiza Tdi at 674bhp. Enough said really.

With an apparent quarter mile terminal speed of 150mph. (His is actually just nudging 98/99mph)

So you beat the book figure of 6.9 seconds, in the wet?
regarding book figures most are b****cks, my friend has a mk5 golf and it says his 0-60 time was 11.9 seconds and we did it in 8.9 using my stopwatch and it says his top speed was 115 and ive been in a car next to him level with him at 125, so imo book figures are shite

See, that's where you're going wrong.

All going down a hill?

I wouldn't know I've never driven one.

but im sure u can realise that a 1.9tdi golf cannot have a top speed of 115 when my old 1.3 mk3 polo did 105, book figures are shite, but the top speed on the 200 in the book is correct, its limited tho, when you get to 141 the car sits at 6700k when it revs to 7800k

The 200 is not limited. Fact. The reason it does not rev around to 7800rpm is because it does not have the power to go any faster. The engine physically cannot provide the torque for it to rev any higher at those speeds hence it has reached its terminal velocity.

If your theory that it would hit the limiter in 6th was correct you would be doing around 165mph. Which is faster than a Focus RS.......

Interesting readout!

There may be other factors to consider such as gear ratios and aerodynamics.

i didnt know that!

do you reckon a remap will change this?

i would like to get abit more out of it, im going to germany in march and wanna give it some proper beans on the autobahn

Forget this app, its s**t.

If you want a dyno app get Dynolicious. Its awesome! Predicted my valver to within 1bhp of figure. Also the 0-60 times were alot more realistic! Its not cheap mind at about £6 i think but defo worth it.

A remap will help mid range mainly. It gives a better torque curve. To be getting a significantl higher top speed your going to need ITB's, SC or Turbo. You could try that setup Kev uses of his 197 too, its suposed to be good.

I think for big power and speeds you'll need forced induction.

No, you'll need deep pockets if you want to hit silly speeds. Anything other than bodies or forced induction and you're not going to get that "holy f*****g hell!" sensation.
