Points / Insurance co.

how do insurance companys find out if you have any points or not, is there a database or something similar - i picked up some points earlier this year and i need to tell my insurance company at my renewal but i just wondered how they would find out if us guys didnt tell them?

You have to tell them.

But, if you have points and you need to claim, you can bet they will find out and you wont be insured.

My mum had points on her license that were not valid any more, shed been with the company for donkeys years and never said a word.

Then her car got pinched and they asked for her liscence - they nearly refused her claim, in the end they paid and cancelled her insurance.

Yes she should have told them but shes over 50 and hardly likely to have done it on purpose to her advantage.

She was seriously mis-treated with regards to that and I would say NOT to get insured with more than cause they are wnkers.

As long as they dont see your license they shouldnt ever find out.

Ive had 3 points for a year now and never had any problems.
