Autoglym Super Resin is a good bet by hand, unless your looking to correct any defects.

depends how its been sprayed

when i had my bonnet done at locke and hankey they said that due to their method of painting and curing, the paint work can be polished straight away, to me though the paint still felt a litttle soft so i left it a week, popped a bit of wax on for a few weeks then cracked on with the machine polishers after 3 weeks :D

Polishing on new paint is fine - There are very few people who can get a perfect finish out of the gun, 99% of the time you freshly painted car/part will have already been polished by the time you collect it. Just make sure you use a polish without and selaants in it.

Waxing or sealing can be the no no.
