polishing bits under the bonnet

Car  VX220 lightning
Ive seen loads of people on here saying... "bits for polishing" and these "bits" under my car are really dull looking (cant describe the bits, but ill try and get a pic).. Can i just use meguires metal polish to get them shiney?

depends mate, in most cases you will need to get them done professionally or spend alot of time on the to get the dirt out of the pits of the metal.
obviously fine sanding the metal bits down will result in a smoother and shinier finish but be prepared to spend alot of time on them!!
you can get them polished by metal workers and they do look good
