poor mpg?? - valver on 79k

  Toyota MR2 Turbo Rev2
hi peeps

on average my 1996/N valver seems to be giving me about 28 mpg.

ive had the car about 2 weeks and was expecting it to drink, but not this much.

a mate has just said it could be the cambelt? but apparently it was done about 2 years ago?

any ideas? is there a way of checking if its been done by looking at it?

thanks

Sounds about right to me, i only used to get about 30mpg when i had mine.
It all depends how you drive it !! obviously if you boot it then the mpg will drop, I used to give mine a blast every now & again, but mainly got about 30mpg.

oh, ok then!

just that i was talking to a guy with a ph2 172 and he said he does about 35 sitting at 80. i seem to do under 30 sitting about 65-70?!

spose i just didnt know what to expect really! oh well, i'll still have fun!! :D
