Poor Sound quality from Digital - Clipping?

I've just got a LG 23" Flatscreen TV.

I've hooked up my digibox...but it sounds like its clipping (not distorting) and it seems to only happen with Live TV and also when I put digital radio on. Also only happens with male voices.

Any reasons why this could be?

Its really odd as I can wack MTV on and crank it up with no problem what so ever. Its driving me mad though.

Is it the TV as I never had this problem with my old tv?

Could be a faulty amplifier in the tv that powers the speakers or, could be the speakers themselves. Parents bought a widescreen many moons ago, theirs did the same from new, iirc, they got the speakers replaced in it, never did it again.

Take it back to where you bought it from and ask them nice staff that we all love to check it out

Its really odd though how it can only clip under such specific circumstances. Like i've got Football First on and its fine but then put on the Big Fight on and it clips like mad.
