poorly clio

mt sister has phoned me this morning telling me her clio wont start.. she has an 03 plate sport and when you turn the key the dash will light but the car wont start. sometimes it turns over for a short while and sometimes it does not turn over at all.

i have been told there is a button that can reset the imobiliser but i cant find one but im inclined to think imobiliser problem.

i would be greatfull for any ideas as she will chew my ears until its fixed

Have you checked the battery isn't on it's last legs.

Immobiliser cuts fuel and spark. It will not prevent it cranking.

Get her to try the spare key, I had this problem last week and it took me days to work out what it was. Tried new battery etcetc, ended up being my key getting denied by the immobiliser

thanks for the replies but its now resolved, there was a small switch under bonnet (aparently). 2 minute fix once the spanner monkey got there
