As good as same car, he calls it a 197 in the advert.

Why oh why oh why do so many people write such s**t ads, I can't believe anyone sells a car with ads like these. All those capitals with spacing hurts my eyes, I couldn't read past the first few lines.

Pay up to be a member and look in the For Sale section on here, I'd avoid that eBay link like the plague.

First impressions are important, and the sort of person who writes everything in capitals and sticks space in everywhere is not the sort of person I would want to buy a car from; if someone thinks an advert like that is a good idea for selling their car, what else will they think is a good idea?

That car looks good, lets be honest, it's got proper service history and it looks lovely condition.

But the advert is a f**king joke and for that reason I'd not want to deal with the guy.

Shame.

A poor advert doesn't necessarily mean a bad car. Just like the many people who advertise cars as "immaculate" with fantastic descriptions and when you actually view them they turn out to be the opposite.

The car itself actually looks and sounds ok. If you get that for a grand you probably won't loose any money on it.

I agree with this. Why wouldn't you take your time to make sure that your advert for an 'immaculate' car is correctly spelt and punctuated?

I fell foul to this approx. 10 times when looking for a decent Clio. Well worded adverts made them sound like a dream, got there to view the vehicle and was let down because the car was in a worse state than described.

A real pity and utterly frustrating!

Personally i'd steer clear . The seller also sold a 2003 plate 172 in June of last year . " Maybe " ( this is just my suspicious mind ) it's an accident repaired car , he repairs the odd car to sell on ?? I've just got a bad feeling about this advert , other than the poor grammar . Lots of 1*2's out there for decent money . I'd look elsewhere tbh .

Thanks for all the Input people have decided not too go for that car. Due to many of the points raised. Mainly the fact That he sold another 172 last year. Looking into it I would need to spend another £450 on belt replacement they have not been done for 36k and having considered things the mileage is a bit too high for my liking having spoke to a friend who had a 172 today that said when his got over 100k all sorts started going wrong and the head gasket would need to be changed and the water pump. he said that car would need maybe 1k spending on it too get it Upto a reliable Car and then there is no guarantees. I thought It looked cheap But Looking into It it is not such a great deal.

Maybe he got his dog to type up the advert?

If you were close I'd take a look at it, if not don't bother. The problem is you're dealing with cars of 8 years and upwards here, you're gonna get some problems somewhere. The good thing is there's plenty of choice. That car may be a good car, but the seller doesn't inspire confidence. If he's had two of them, why does he not seem to know what it is? If he was an enthusiast (having two of them) then surely he'd go into more detail? Probably best to avoid, but it's not always going to be that easy.

It's suffering from the dreaded " melted steering wheel " ;) It doesn't say what condition the cars in , no side pics of the car so can't see if it's riddled with dents . If you pay your subscription you'll have access to the whole forum , therefore the cars for sale section . There's a BG 182 in there with only 67k on the clock with all the belts done for the same money . Never fall in love with the first one you see and buy it , have a good look round . There are lots for sale in various other places :D

Just my opinion but a service history doesn't always make a good car.
I looked at an Audi A4 a few years back with a "full service history" but all the history was for faults and replacement parts that had screwed up like the head, countless sensors, gearbox recondition and more, little on the upkeep.
Take your time like others have said, they aren't exactly rocking horse s**t!
My PH1 172 with 70k in immaculate condition with a healthy service history on a W plate was only £1200 from a dealer!
