PostScipt2

Car  ph2 172
Hey

As Hp keep ignoring my question I thought I would ask here, do modern HP printers still support PostScipt2?

I'm after a network inkjet printer.

Don't get many inkjets with built in RiP's tbh, you'll need a software rip to act as a server, Postscript 2 is very old school? any reason for it? You could just raster everything to PDF and print PDF's to normal inkjets?

Postscript 3 is where its at :)

Need it to print from a 10 year old equine diagnostic machine, if it does not support postscript 2 then the print outs dont come out right!

Its being a bloody nightmare trying to find one!

Even if you try and print to a Postscript 3 machine?

You not got Acrobat suite? print to the PDF printer then send the PDF to any printer you like - it will print the way it looks on screen?

its a sun microsystems UNIX based machine, when the printer failed the company who supplied it said it had to support PostScript2 so I am just following thier advice really.

Size machine do you need? A2? bigger? what model was the last machine?

Postscript 3 is backwards compatible with 2 so shouldn't be an issue.
