What is the pot like component under offside wing, it's forward of the tyre?

Thanks, so what job does it do ?

Collects excess carbon from exhaust fumes (in the chamber?). Don't get rid of it, probably affects emissions tests

Collects excess fuel vapour from the fuel tank, then is used by the car when you next drive it.

Basically replaced the vent cars used to have on the filler cap.
