An obvious change you need to consider also with the 182 is insurance - Group 16

As for mpg - will vary depending on your driving "style" and many other factors. On average and not ragging it I'd say about the 28 - 30mpg. I did a recent 150 mile round journey and according to the trip I averaged 35.6mpg. That was mostly motorway and dual carriageways at a steady 75mph. I've seen it dip to lower - mid 20's on shorter journeys. Think its safe to say that the 182 won't be as economical as your 1.4 .... then again you won't be driving it like a 1.4 ;)

i averaged around 32-34 mpg in my 182 the whole time i had it, reset every fill up aswell.. seen up to 39 a couple of times

If you are only getting 34mpg out of a 1.4, then I think you need a new pair of lighter shoes before you concider a 182.

I average 38-40mpg in my 172 so it is possible!

Only ever got between 34 and 38 mpg in my 182.

Make sure you get F(R)Sh and check aux belt at 36k and cam belt at 72K (Or 60 as some people recommend).

Check disc for thickness and also damopers for leaks.

I'm lookin forward to seein what I get, I do a 120mile round trip commute every day and have just bought a 182. About 105miles of that is A14 and M1. Will report what I get unless I can't afford my internet connection anymore :D
