Potential 182 buyer.

Hello All,

Been reading through this forum and seems very helpfull, i have been searching for a while on a few things but want to brush up on one or two queries..

Now i am looking at buying a clio 182, pref Liquid Yellow as if not mistaken has very few produced. How many im unsure as ive read so many different amounts. But i would basically like to drive about and not pass the same coloured 182 every 2mins as mine, but have somethign very different.

So other than the colour i notice all this stuff about Cup Packs, Full Fat which i have now found to be a name used on the forum, also Trophy is another and i think thats it. Basically i dont know what is what.. I dont know if only one type is available in LY.

Last question i can think of is.. If you were to buy another Clio 182 what would it be?

LY is one of the rarest colours for the 182. around 70 made iirc. if you want something that is extremely rare id say petrol blue.

i have a 1.2 but my new car is LY. not a colour everyone would own but most like to look at it if that makes sense.

Think out of the two i will opt for the LY, although that colour may be rarer dont think you will get noticed as much as the LY will

Also can anyone clear up the differences between this FF, Cup, trophy stuff..

Got two cars here that i am interested in, can someone cast their eyes over them and tell me the pros and cons of both cars..

My thought on the car, first car nicer colour, but the second has mint seats but theres something about the look of the second one which makes it look different from the first

182 cups didn't come in LY, they only came in racing blue (the flat light blue) & inferno (the rusty looking colour )

Neither of those are cups. Cup has no climate/cruise/xenon lights/part leather. Basically pov spec with the engine. FF = full fat, the none cup model. Cup packs (spoiler and suspension) were options available for the FF - spoilers been a front splitter and small rear spoiler, suspension been the dark wheels, Exalto tyres and slightly lower/stiffer set up. That 2nd one you linked to, the Arctic, belong to a member on here and is apparently hugely tidy. The Trophy is another model, only available in Red, with Sachs remote resevoir suspension, 16" version of the wheels on that Arctic, Trophy stickers and the cool Recaro seats. It's basically the ultimate 182 - the last hurrah at the end of the production cycle. Personally, if I were you it would have to be a Trophy. They only made 500, they really stand out on the road, and they're the pinnacle. And IMHO things with number plaques are cool

So that seller has got it wrong then the LY is infact not a Cup, so what is it? Excuse my stupidity..

the ly is a full fat. ie all the toys etc , leather ,climate , xenons etc

Ok so both are Std 182, but have cup options. How does the 2nd car have them mint recaros(lush).

As for the Trophy just fin reading a 9 page discussion/argument and all that seems to be the difference is the handling and .2 secs quicker and the one colour. Dont think i can justify spending that much more money on a car just for that, i would rather buy a cheaper 182 and get some H&R's.

trophy is the top of the tree as far as clios go (mk2s).

Actually just looking through the pictures section and them Trophys are quite nice, nit keen on the sticker on the skirts though.

What is the crack with the Trophy then? why are they better cars?? What stuff do they have and i was looking at this thread in particular and that light blue clio muct have coilies, cos its loww..

The Recaros in that Arctic were a factory option - and standard in the Trophy. Personally I'd have a Trophy - but for £7,450 that Arctic represents great value, and it is a very nice one.
