Potentially the best product you'll ever buy for your Clio

http://www.rattlebuster.com/index.html

From their website:
"Rattle Buster was conceived as a result of many years immense frustration suffering numerous interior rattles and vibrations, within most of the cars I have owned and driven. I have owned many different manufacturers cars over the years (Japanese, German, British, French - it doesn’t seem to matter), and have to admit; very few have been rattle free.

If like me, unwanted interior rattles or vibrations tend to ruin your driving experience, then I am sure you will understand why I felt compelled to devise some means of safely eliminating them, especially after a few near misses with kerbs and oncoming traffic.

I found that most of the garages I took the vehicles back to were not particularly interested, or if they were they wanted to charge me an hourly rate!, to try and find a rattle (What a waste of money!). Furthermore, I found that trying to identify the cause of a rattle was quite often a very dangerous activity, as I could only look for certain rattles or vibrations, whilst driving at a certain speed, and of course this meant that ones full attention was not on the road ahead – NOT A GOOD IDEA.

This got me thinking, and after a number of other ideas had failed “Eureka” RattleBuster was conceived.

The kit enables you to re-produce a range of sound frequencies or tones, using your vehicles CD audio system. These carefully selected frequencies mimic many of the internal vibrations that may occur whilst your vehicle is being driven along a section of road. Each tone has been carefully researched and specifically selected, in order to cause optimum vibration at a specific frequency range. In addition to this, each tone has been digitally created to ensure the highest quality reproduction."

Wonder if it works? :)

Maybe I'm not reading this correctly, but basically does it reproduce rattles to outrattle all the other ones?? Would it not be better to locate the rattle and fix it permanatly with some gaffer tape?

Isn't it allowing you to listen to the rattle via CD so you recognise it, then it tells you where the problem is and you can fix it yourself. I think it's to stop people checking for rattles @ 70+mph and taking their "full concentration" off the road.

I maybe wrong...:rasp:

How can you tell where a rattle is by listening to it on a CD Player? Or you could just turn the volume up so you cant hear the rattle! My latest rattle was the Face-Off on my CD Player, just selotaped it on and its fine now. Didnt need any fancy gizmology to work it out.

Cheaper alternative.

the cd produces frequencies that MAKE the rattle happen while the cars stationary, so you can find and fix the rattle, without trying to do it while driving.

Ahhhh I see, wow, that does sound pretty good to me.

I just leave a load of old change in the ash tray... creates such a noise that the rattles in the dash are a distant memory.

any bass test cd would do the same thing,

Twas going to say the same thing, all my many rattles have been cured by a bass test, down the A3 sliproad so as not to disturb anyone.

Came across when I was doing a search for something else on Google - it came up as a recommended link (but totally unrelated!) on the right hand side of the page! Bizarre idea so that's why I had a look!

It's a lot of money for what it is - are bass test CDs cheaper? Or can anyone send me a copy!?)

Can you send me a copy too?
I have upgraded like-for-like Clarion speakers and decent Alpine HU but nothing else ... will this still work given my lack of "power"?

doubt it as you really shouldn't be putting those freqs through your comps

i can send you a mp3 of a 20-90 hz sweep over 2 mins

Would be appreciated! Although similarly, I've only got comps front and rear, no subs. So whether a bass test CD would be any use I ain't sure!

If it is could you e-mail me the MP3 to allygmitchellATyahooDOTcoDOTuk? :star:
Cheers
