Power Boost Valves

  Clio Williams 2
Was in halfords the other day and they said this would add 15 - 20 brake on my williams??? anyone got any info, they are going at £90.

  Motorbikes
You can get them from k-tec i think, not as much as 90 quid there, or is that an ecotek valve? supposed to dramatically improve acceleration.

Not to sure what it is to be honest they just recomended it didnt go on anything below a 1.6 and said it would give 15-20 brake.......
so im thinking about getting this and a super chip on my williams before french car show

  172 Cup
Yup ^^^

If they really gave you 15-20bhp for a measly £90 don't you think manufacturers would fit them as standard rather than spend millions on engine research???

I cant believe people fall for this s**t. To get 15-20bhp from an engine will cost you a good few hundred quid of engine/exhaust mods etc.

Nothing you can buy from halfrauds will give you that much bhp.

it gave me 15bhp on my 172, and i got a free resistor chip with it...Total Bhp now is in excess of 200Bhp....I'm so pleased.

All it's doing is increasing fuel pressure so forcing more fuel into the system, the resistor chip is to alter the signal from the MAF to the ECU to give you a little more timing by fooling the ECU that the air drawn into the system is cooler/denser, it's a very crude way of tuning to be honest as the results aren't mapped by load or produced in a linear fashion.

Seriously tho dan,Spend the ££ on brakes/suspension, don't waste your cash on these 'miracle mods'

Think Aj was kidding

I had one on my fiesta 1.6 si. It improved the acceleration but I don't think it gave any real horsepower gains. It just helped the KN, exhaust and superchip. I have got one to go on my williams as I think it will help with its pickup. I got it from motorsport world website.

It's hard to tell with you lot sometimes in my defense :rasp:

You don't think my post count of 8000 came from 100% sensible posts now do you! lol.

  A SHED!
Hahaha, 15-20bhp. If I was you dan, go to Nick at hillpower, he'll tell the real sorts of gains you can get from mods.

PBV...maybe a max of 5bhp improvement and some flat spots ironed out. All depends on the state of the engine to begin with...likely you'll get more of an improvment on a shagged engine TBH.

I put one on my RSI, got an increase of about 100 bhp, running 210 now just with this mod, it also tricked the ecu into thinking the car was rear wheel drive, so thats where all the power goes, great for power slides, but you get bored after a while breating Evo's in a drag and the like

  MY10 R35 GTR
dont waste the money mate. My old corsa ( satins car ) had one and it ran like a sh!t heap. same with other cars I've seem then on. MPG drops big time.
