power problems

For a while now if i leave my ignition on with stereo, it flattens the battery instantly as i have an external amp etc. starts perfectly if i dont mess about with the stereo when ignition is on etc.
so when it goes flat i just charge the battery and away i go.
starting to get a bit sick of it now and need to get round to sorting it.
is it a case of just getting an uprated battery to cope with the amp power supply?
or is the alternator not charging the battery properly?
car is sitting on the drive now dead :(

everything is fine on the amp, turners installed it. its just a case of whenever the ignition and stereo are on, not the engine, it flattens the battery. new battery needed?

hi mate if youve got a powerfull amp its sure to drain the battery very fast without the ignition on

a bigger/better quality battery will help car audio speacialists sell better batterys but the cells will only take so much before they need charging either via the cars alternator or u recharging it

my amp is only 300 watts rms yet when its turnt up half way the interior light dims with the bass because of the power surge needed to create the bass

ive seen summin about this on pimp my ride and they fitted a gadget to help due to all the amps they had fitted so car audio shops should be able to help :) sorry i couldnt be much more help mate

laterz :)
