Power Steerin Rack help

just taken it into a garage and they think that the power steering rack may be on the way out, is the is lots to fix? and is it a specilised job?

any help welcome

I was quoted £100-£150 to fit at a mates garage. Plus parts! They must be awkward enough!

taken it to one garage and they said they had pin pointed it around the steering rack area but cant be sure for definate. they didnt want to undertake it though so i now have till wait till the 7th to book it in to a specilist place lol

Wot is wrong with the steering? Some of the guys on here mite have had similar problems and be able to help!

as above - prob best to find out what's up with it first. is it leaking?

genuine Renault racks are £400 and the pattern ones I've been quoted for aren't any cheaper; labour is 4 hours for a rack swap

good second hand might be the cheapest bet if it really needs a new rack

I have 1 in the house for a Ph2 172! Just needs a Track rod end! I bought it thinking I needed it but now appears I need a pump!

What problem are you having Tizer? I think ive got an issue with mine at the moment, there is a loud click from under the car when I turn the wheel whilst on the spot.

it is the mount bearings or holders something along them lines. it is being done on thursday
