Powerflex bushes and koni dampers

Has anyone fitted powerflex rear shock upper mounts with aftermarket dampers before? Trying to get them to work with koni dampers at the moment but the metal insert is smaller than the shock stantion.

Can you fit them without the metal insert, if not any suggestions on what parts to buy to complete the suspension refresh.

I installed them without that insert on some gaz shocks and I was careful not to tighten the bolt too much, that insert stops you to do just that and prevent damage to the bush
