im in need of a bit of help (not sure if this is the correct section but oh well)

im after powerflex bushes for the lower engine mount on my 172

im sure its a twisted mount.

where is the best place to buy them? ive had a look on powerflex website and im not sure if they have it.

also ktec do have the kit but seems a tad expensive?

if anyone could point me in the right direction that would be great.

also when it comes to puting the bushes in.. whats the best way to do this just sqash them in using a vice or simmilar?

again any advice is much appreciated

thanks

as said above, had mine from Kam racing, ordered monday at 11am and they were delivered wednesday at 10:20am :D

fitting was HORRIBLE!! mount comes off the car very easy, and the smaller bush came out easy with a mallet and socket, but the larger bush wouldnt budge, had to call in a mate with a 30ton press to get it out

have fun :p

I've heard burning em out is the easiest way. I got mine off eBay, saved me a couple of quid over Kam Racing and came the next day.

Hammer and vice is all thats neede as anyone who's had me do theirs will attest to. I try to keep these in stock all the time now

I was there for over 3 hours with a hammer/mallet/mole grips none of which would remove the large bush and metal collar.. even tried a large socket with a bolt running through it with a washer on each end, then tightened a nut on the one end trying to pull it through, but it just bent the washers lol

You squash the metal around the bush (the metal which sticks out both side of the mount) in on itself in a vice, then whack it and it just falls out. Takes about a minute.

didnt have a vice :p that would be far too sensible :D
so just waited untill someone I knew finished work so I could used the 30 ton press to push it out... and then took 2 seconds to push the new ones in..

I did mine a couple of months back.... Took me less than an hour start to finish. Such an easy job.

One rubber mallet, one socket and one vice. old bushes came out no problem at all.

Perhaps I was just lucky
