Sorry kow it may be a daft question but ive got an avic x1 ....Had it a while now but not got it fitted yet

Is there anyway to power it up without fitting it to the car to see if it works?.....i dont have the clip tool to get the renault stereo out and im getting a Pro to fit the unit but he cant fit it for another few weeks yet.

+ i got it off ebay and im sure it works just need to make sure .....and am considering not installing it and just selling it.

Is there anyway guys to power it up out of the car?

Cheers

with a battery?

you dont need a tool to take the renault one out, just a wire coathanger.

take the oe one out, and just plug the black ISO connector into the new one to power it up, you dont even need to fit the new one.

only if you have a 12v dc power source, like maybe a spare car batery? Or one of those jump start/booster jobbies.

don't connect the stereo to the jump leads or you will ;) I meant get a 12v dc plug and plug the stereo into the booster thing so it's fused etc :)

Coat hanger worked a treat....Cheers guys

Just a thought

Say when putting the stereo back in with there not being much space behind the unit and a cable got trapped could this catch a light or would it take the fuse first? :S

Cheers
